As the first project in the larger Marquette Plan, the City and the National Park Service had to redevelop a former brownfield site and create a better access to Lake Michigan.
The project team worked together to redevelop and design a 60-acre lakefront parcel, creating the City’s first park on the shore of Lake Michigan. This was achieved by taking a former brownfield site and transforming it into a LEED Gold National Park. The team provided structural investigation of the original bridge, access road, traffic studies, site utilities, parking and traffic circulation.
