METRO Blue Line Extension Light Rail Transit Phase II Environmental Site Assessment

METRO Blue Line Extension Light Rail Transit Phase II Environmental Site Assessment

Challenge

Before undertaking the Phase II Environmental Impact Study for a major light rail extension line in Minnesota, the project team knew they needed to organize and make accessible a lot of continuously changing data existing in different formats and spread across multiple file locations.

Solution

SEH developed a web-based GIS application to help stakeholders access project information efficiently and effectively. The application helped identify right-of-entry and work completed status for each parcel along the corridor with proposed borings or test trenches. SEH also provided clear and concise records of work completed on a daily and weekly basis. It allowed multiple stakeholders at the Blueline project office to easily review, analyze and visualize upcoming and completed field work, and saved them substantial time and energy.
