Challenge
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) needed to replace the eastbound Highway 62 bridge over Interstate 35W due to heavy traffic loads and issues with merging. But they couldn’t close the bridge down during construction.
Solution
The project team designed an 865-foot-long, three-lane, curved bridge, which was constructed in stages to avoid traffic disruption.
