Challenge
The City of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, needed to redesign its riverfront area as the final part of its downtown revitalization process. The area needed to accommodate a current trail system and make way for new uses, while accounting for varying water levels of the river throughout the year.
Solution
After extensive public involvement meetings, the project team designed a riverfront that works for everyone, with passive quiet areas along the river, spaces for community festivals and events, and amenities for pedestrians, cyclists, river users, anglers and more.
