Congratulations to Professional Engineer Katie Kinsey (IA), who recently received the Outstanding Service Award from the American Water Works Association – Iowa Section (AWWA-IA).
The Outstanding Service Award honors members of AWWA who have demonstrated outstanding service through leadership and active participation in AWWA programs.
Katie has been an active AWWA member since 2005 starting with the Public Information Committee. She also played an active role on the Education Committee, helping plan and host the spring and fall short courses. As the Membership Committee Chair, Katie began implementing new ways to recognize new members and make them feel welcome. Particularly noteworthy were her efforts in planning and conducting the Fall Virtual Workshop in 2020.
What's her next step with the organization? Katie will serve as a 1st Year Trustee on the AWWA-IA Board of Directors.
Katie has 16+ years of experience managing projects in the water industry, including distribution main and feeder main planning, design and construction; water distribution system improvement studies; hydraulic modeling and facility site improvements. She is also knowledgeable in designing public infrastructure for subdivisions and commercial layouts, performing stormwater hydrologic and hydraulic computations, and designing street and intersection layouts, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer.
From drinking water to wastewater, Katie believes that preserving our planet’s greatest resource plays a vital role in SEH’s mission of Building a Better World for All of Us®.
