SEH Board of Directors Names 21 New Associates in 2024

The SEH Board of Directors announces the selection of 21 new Associates who have exemplified exceptional performance and dedication to their roles within the Company. Their achievements are a testament to their talent and commitment to our shared success.

Dustin Cesafsky

Project Design Leader | Civil Engineering

Dustin is a civil project manager and client service manager with 13 years of experience, including 11 years at SEH. Specializing in municipal engineering and stormwater design and management, Dustin has led a variety of successful projects, ranging from local pavement management projects to federal trail projects, providing innovative and sustainable solutions. Known for his strong leadership and mentoring skills, he has fostered a collaborative and productive work environment. Actively involved in the community, Dustin contributes to Vadnais Heights Economic Development Corporation and assists with the MathCounts program, reflecting his commitment to professional and civic engagement.

Jen Desrude, PE*

Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

With a career spanning more than two decades, Jen has excelled in roles as project manager and city engineer. She has a proven track record in managing large projects, such as municipal initiatives and multimodal improvements, and assisting with day-to-day city engineering functions like development and permit reviews, stormwater management, right-of-way oversight, traffic management, and special assessment processes. Additionally, Jen is actively involved with the City Engineers Association of Minnesota, previously serving as president from 2022-23, and the Minnesota Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA).

Kari Franklin, PE*, LEED GA

Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

Kari’s extensive background in civil engineering includes over 20 years of managing large-scale projects in the land development and municipal sectors. Known for her expertise in stormwater management, and private and public utility design, Kari is also a dedicated mentor committed to fostering junior engineers’ growth.

John Glatzmaier, PE*

Senior Engineer | Wastewater Engineering

John brings three decades of experience to SEH, specializing in water and wastewater industry projects. In his role as a process designer and project manager, he has led significant wastewater projects and large teams. Underscoring his commitment to professional excellence, John’s active involvement in the Central States Water Environment Association earned him a service award in 2012.

Erik Henningsgard, PE*, CPESC

Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

Erik has 22 years of experience in stormwater design, municipal engineering, and project management. He collaborates with local communities on the design and construction management of municipal engineering projects, along with site and stormwater management design on public and private developments. Leveraging his extensive experience, Erik also ensures compliance with state and local regulations on other projects.

Luke Johnson, PE*

Senior Engineer | Highway Design

Luke is a project manager and transportation engineer with a strong background in water resources design. He joined SEH in 2019 and has 11 years of experience specializing in preliminary and final roadway design for state and county transportation projects, including roundabouts, urban reconstruction, and rural resurfacing. Leading the adoption of critical software such as ProjectWise, Open Road Designer , and Bluebeam, Luke also stays engaged by participating in the Minnesota Surveyors and Engineers Society.

Erin Jordan, PE*

Senior Engineer | Traffic Engineering

Starting her career at SEH as an intern, Erin has cultivated a rich background in traffic and transportation planning and design. Her work focuses on multimodal complete streets and Safe Routes to School (SRTS) programs, partnering with communities to develop safer, efficient, and inclusive neighborhoods. She currently works with the Minnesota Department of Transportation to provide technical design assistance for SRTS demonstration projects across the state. Additionally, Erin actively represents SEH in professional communities, including the North Central Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS)-Minnesota, where she serves as Vice President.

Chad Katzenberger, PE*

Senior Engineer | Water Engineering

Chad has 20 years of experience in water system engineering, modeling, planning, and design, and brings unparalleled expertise to our team. As a water systems engineer, he leads SEH's initiatives in digital water system modeling and manages a diverse range of projects, including water system master planning, hydraulic modeling, storage, and pumping facility design. Chad frequently presents at industry conferences, enhancing SEH's reputation as a leader in water engineering. His dedication to staying at the forefront of smart water initiatives aims to expand our in-house expertise and equip our clients with advanced tools for informed water system planning decisions.

Katie Kinsey, PE*

Senior Engineer | Water Engineering

Joining SEH in 2020, Katie brings over 20 years of water industry experience managing infrastructure projects. She is deeply engaged in professional organizations, including the Iowa Section of the American Water Works Association, where she has served on various committees and is currently the Board of Trustee Chair. Additionally, Katie plays a key role on the SEH Director Nominating Committee, helping to shape the company's strategic direction.

Chris Knutson, PE*

Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

Since beginning his career in 2007, Chris has demonstrated outstanding leadership and technical expertise. Starting as a graduate engineer, he quickly progressed to managing major infrastructure projects, including municipal street and utility improvements. With 17 years of experience in civil engineering, Chris has primarily collaborated with local communities on the design, administration, and construction of street and utility improvement projects. His expertise encompasses stormwater management, civil design, and construction observation.

Marcy Kottas

Learning and Development Manager | Human Resources

Since joining SEH in 2016, Marcy has played a pivotal role in advancing SEH's learning and development initiatives, significantly impacting employee performance, engagement, and retention. She designed and developed numerous training programs and sessions, enhancing critical skill and knowledge development across all SEH career paths. Marcy introduced innovative learning technologies and led the implementation of the SEH Learning Center, significantly improving employees' access to essential learning resources and resulting in greater learner engagement. By fostering a culture of continuous learning, Marcy has empowered SEH employees with ongoing development opportunities, driving their personal growth and contributing to SEH's long-term success.

Nate McLaughlin

Lead Technician | Structural Engineering

Nate has been a dedicated structural technician at SEH for nearly 24 years, contributing to major projects across various regions and practices, including bridge engineering, civil design, and construction services. His technical proficiency is evident through his direction in implementing software platforms like Civil 3D and OpenBridge, significantly enhancing SEH's capabilities. Known for his attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and commitment to quality deliverables, Nate is a recognized technical leader.

Paul O’Neil, PE*

Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

Paul is a seasoned project manager, client service manager, and engineer with over 20 years of experience managing municipal, federal, and private development projects. Paul works on a wide range of projects from land development and site designs to water pump stations and wastewater lift stations. Paul has successfully managed water-related master planning and capital improvement plan programs and is adept at providing accurate cost estimates for long-term projects.

Jesse Sabo

Information Security Risk Manager | Information Technology

Throughout his 22 years with SEH, Jesse has advanced through various roles within the IT practice, demonstrating exceptional skill in analyzing, resolving, and preventing technology issues across the company. In his current role, he has been instrumental in creating and leading SEH's IT risk management function, aligning it with the company's overall risk management process. Jesse also spearheads IT security assessments, audits, and vulnerability tests, including those for newly acquired entities like RAM Companies.

Becky Schwab, PE*

Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

Becky is a senior civil engineer and project manager who oversees the Mason City, Iowa, civil department and office. With over 19 years of experience in geotechnical, municipal, transportation, and private development markets, she has successfully led teams through a wide range of design projects, from small renovations to large new developments. Active in her community, Becky serves on the Clear Lake Triathlon committee and represents Clear Lake on the North Iowa Corridor Board, working closely with city administrators and mayors. Additionally, she participates in the Statewide Urban Design and Specifications committee and the Iowa Department of Transportation Information Memorandums committee, staying current with standards and expanding her professional network.

Satya Tallamraju, PE*

Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

Satya is a professional engineer with 29 years of industry experience in municipal civil engineering projects, traffic engineering, transportation planning, safety, public involvement, and construction inspection. His traffic engineering experience includes traffic impact studies, signal warrant studies, intersection capacity and traffic operations analysis, traffic modeling, signal timing evaluation and optimization, and Intersection Design Studies.  Serving as the office manager in Munster, Indiana, Satya is also part of the east region civil leadership team, focusing on work sharing, business development, improvement of internal processes, and project management skills to achieve project performance goals and align with corporate growth and efficiency strategy.

Jordan Thole, PE*, CFM

Senior Engineer | Water Resources Engineering

Jordan is a professional engineer and certified floodplain manager with over 12 years of experience specializing in comprehensive solutions for inflow/infiltration modeling riverine flooding, urban flooding, dams, levees, and flood risk reduction planning. Demonstrating industry expertise, Jordan has coordinated with state and federal regulators to inspect and regulate dams and levees across the continental United States. He currently leads the water resources flood risk management service group in St. Paul, Minnesota. Jordan serves as vice-chair of the executive committee for the Minnesota Association of Floodplain Managers and has been recognized as a top presenter at various conferences.

Jeremiah Wendt, PE*

Regional Practice Leader | Water and Wastewater Engineering

As a consultant and former director of public works, Jeremiah has designed various wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, and force mains. He has also participated in a diverse range of projects from downtown revitalization, parks, and trails, to streambank stabilization for adaptive management. He leads a team of 20 skilled engineers and technicians to deliver innovative and dependable water and wastewater solutions. Committed to his professional and personal communities, Jeremiah is a member of the Wisconsin Wastewater Operators’ Association, Wisconsin Rural Water Association, APWA, and serves on his church's Board of Trustees.

Josh Woller, PE*

Senior Engineer | Highway Design

Josh joined SEH in 2007 and is a versatile traffic engineer with extensive experience in various traffic, highway, and civil engineering projects. His expertise spans highway and civil design, traffic signal and ITS design, signal timing and operation analyses, interchange and freeway operations analyses, corridor studies, intersection control evaluations, access studies, traffic impact studies, site circulation, parking analyses, and traffic management plans. He is an active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.

Tyler Yngsdal, PE*

Engineer | Civil Engineering

Joining SEH in 2013, Tyler is a civil engineer, supervisor, project manager, and client service manager.  He has experience in planning, agency coordination, public involvement, design, permitting, and construction for various public and private projects, including site developments, ADA design, trails, street and utility improvement projects, and state-aid/federal-aid projects. Tyler is engaged in the community as a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers Duluth section, currently serving as Secretary with plans for further leadership roles. Additionally, he mentors local high school students through job shadowing opportunities. Tyler works to boost employee engagement in the Duluth office by organizing office outings, fundraising events, and volunteer efforts.

Casey Zins, PE*, CFPM

Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

Casey is a senior professional engineer, project manager, and client service manager. Currently based in Fredericksburg, Texas, he leads a team of professionals performing private land development engineering and consulting services throughout central Texas. Since first joining SEH in 2014 as an intern, Casey performed project design engineer roles for multiple teams across multiple geographies. He uses his in-depth knowledge and understanding of SEH services to connect individuals and teams at SEH with opportunities for growth in Texas.
