Attract New Business With Tax Incremental Financing
Tax Incremental Finance (TIF) is an economic development program that helps expand local tax base by using property tax revenues to fund site improvements to attract new development. It can also be used for rehabilitation/conservation, industrial, mixed-use, eliminating blight and environmental remediation.

Smart Growth Planning Options
Visualizing what smart growth looks like can be hard. NRDC has a great website that shows what it actually means via a slide show.

Wind Power Company May Locate in Milwaukee
Ingeteam, a Spanish energy company, was recently awarded $1.66 million in federal clean-tech manufacturing tax credits to make wind turbine generators and power converter and control systems. They may potentially locate their new factory in Milwaukee creating 100-200 jobs.

New Effluent Guidelines
Effective February 1, 2010
Orchestrated to control discharge of pollutants from construction sites, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published effluent limitation guidelines and new source performance standards.
